Transforming Higher Education: Insights from the AI in Higher Education Summit on AI Tools and University Readiness

The AI in Higher Education Summit, held in Paris on March 17-18, 2026, gathered 183 participants from 67 universities across 27 countries, addressing how higher education must adapt to an AI-driven landscape. Organized by ESCP Business School and the ESCPTech Institute, the summit facilitated dialogue among educators, industry leaders, and policymakers. An Executive Report synthesizes insights from over 40 sessions and keynotes, highlighting that 44% of faculty believe students know more about AI than they do, while 58% of employers feel universities are insufficiently preparing graduates for an AI-enabled workforce. Key themes include new models for assessment, governance, and pedagogy, as well as strategic recommendations for institutions. The report outlines five tensions in AI adoption: efficiency versus educational purpose, speed of adoption versus trust, automation versus human judgment, open innovation versus control, and scale versus responsibility. Download the report to explore comprehensive findings that can guide universities in becoming AI-ready.
