Uber Eats Introduces Customer Messaging for Merchants Regarding Orders

Uber Eats has introduced a “Live order chat” feature, allowing restaurants to communicate with customers in real time to address order issues. This feature supports both delivery and pickup options, enabling merchants to confirm replacements for sold-out items and clarify dietary preferences. Customers can only message merchants if they’ve contacted them first, ensuring smoother communication.

In addition to the chat feature, Uber Eats is rolling out new AI tools for merchants. These tools include AI-generated summaries of customer reviews and item descriptions, helping users make informed ordering decisions. The app will also improve low-quality food images using AI techniques, enhancing visual appeal.

Moreover, Uber Eats encourages users to submit photos of their deliveries. If chosen for publication, customers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, or the U.K. can earn $3 in Uber Cash. This initiative aims to boost customer engagement and inspire more orders.
