UCL AI Festival Hackathon Unleashes 100 AI Agents in a Reality-Simulating Challenge

At the UCL AI Festival hackathon, a groundbreaking team created a fully simulated event utilizing autonomous AI agents. Over 100 personalized agents networked, formed teams, and developed projects within a pixel-art virtual office setting. Led by Tomáš Hrdlička from MockAI, the team scraped LinkedIn and GitHub profiles of participants and mentors to facilitate this innovative simulation, which ultimately won the Anthropic prize for the best use of the Claude Agent SDK.

This unique initiative demonstrates the potential of AI in collaborative environments, raising questions about its applications beyond traditional formats. The UCL AI Festival, in collaboration with NVIDIA and HPE, highlights the increasing significance of AI across various sectors, including healthcare and robotics. With over 150 participants, the event showcased how AI can enhance teamwork and innovation while emphasizing the ethical responsibilities tied to technological advancements. This festival reaffirmed UCL’s leadership in AI research and entrepreneurship.
