The University of Nevada, Reno has launched PACK AI, an innovative initiative aimed at equipping students and faculty with essential artificial intelligence skills. This student-driven program will integrate AI into academic curricula and research, enhancing efficiency and productivity across campus operations. Starting this semester, new students will complete an AI introduction module during their NevadaFIT experience, which includes ethical considerations and implementation in coursework. First-year and transfer students will also access Microsoft CoPilot and Apple Intelligence on their iPads. The initiative will enhance faculty capabilities through workshops and resources, promoting personalized learning and streamlining administrative tasks. An upcoming “AI in the Classroom: A Wolf Pack Symposium Series” will showcase faculty integration of AI in various disciplines. Additionally, a one-credit introduction to AI course will be offered at the Lake Tahoe campus, and a three-course online certificate in AI will be developed for all students, aligning with the University’s mission to lead in education and research.
