Google has officially launched its Gemini for Home Early Access test on October 28, replacing the Google Assistant on speakers and displays for U.S. users enrolled in the test. This core update introduces Gemini and Gemini Live, allowing users to ask quick questions, explore complex topics, and engage in more natural conversations. With the command “Hey Google,” users can receive richer answers, set reminders, stream media, and control smart home devices. For deeper knowledge, users can say, “Hey Google, let’s chat,” facilitating assistance in various topics, from VR to schoolwork support. Enhanced smart home capabilities, such as reviewing camera history and creating automations, are available with a Google Home Premium subscription. To participate, users should access Google Home (v4.1 or higher) and select “Early Access” in settings. Reports of Gemini’s early appearance emerged earlier this month, indicating anticipation for this significant smart home upgrade.
