YouTube Shorts has introduced a new “Photo to Video” tool, enabling users in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to transform still images into dynamic clips effortlessly. This innovative feature is powered by the Veo 2 AI, which also enhances Google Photos. By selecting an image from your camera roll and choosing a preset, you can create a more engaging video version of your static photos. Additionally, new generative effects allow users to transform doodles or selfies creatively, adding unique touches like underwater scenes. All these features are accessible through the “AI Playground,” found under the create button in the Shorts camera. While none of this replaces individual creativity, it streamlines the video-making process, allowing creators to diversify their Shorts content. Notably, all AI-generated creations are marked with a SynthID watermark, ensuring clarity between human-made and AI-assisted content. Expect further enhancements with the upcoming Veo 3 release.
