Unlock the Power of Google’s New Free AI Agent: Gemini at Your Command Line – Here’s How to Get Started!

admin

Google has launched Gemini CLI, a free AI tool designed to integrate directly with command line interfaces (CLI) for developers. Announced on Wednesday, it connects users to Google’s AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, allowing for easy access to tasks such as writing and debugging code, generating content, and conducting research via natural language prompts. This new tool follows an experimental version introduced in March and features enhanced capabilities like a Deep Think mode. Gemini CLI also works with Gemini Code Assist and supports various user plans in VS Code. To encourage usage, Google allows up to 60 model requests per minute and 1,000 per day at no cost. Open-sourced under the permissive Apache 2.0 license, Gemini CLI aims to streamline coding processes. Following a trend noted in the tech community, a recent survey indicated that around 76% of web developers are adopting AI tools, though concerns about their accuracy remain prevalent.
