The U.S. Air Force’s recent coalition experiment, part of the 2025 Decision Advantage Sprint for Human-Machine Teaming (DASH), assessed how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance battle management decisions. Collaborating with operators from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., the exercise demonstrated AI’s capability to provide rapid decision-making support during simulated combat scenarios. Conducted at Shadow Operations Center–Nellis in Las Vegas, DASH 3 featured six industry teams testing AI-enabled tools that generated multiple viable battle strategies in seconds, significantly speeding up command and control operations. Participants noted a growing trust in AI tools, emphasizing that these systems serve as starting points rather than replacements for human judgment, aligning with Air Force policies on human oversight in high-risk decisions. This collaborative effort paves the way for future AI integrations into military operations and enhances international interoperability, setting the stage for 2026 experimental advancements.
