Stockholm-based legal AI startup Vesence has successfully raised $9 million in a seed funding round to enhance its innovative system of AI agents integrated within Microsoft Office. Targeting law firms, Vesence’s tools, embedded in Word and Outlook, review emails and documents to ensure quality control. They cross-check attachments, identify missing details, analyze lengthy email threads, and enforce style guidelines, effectively acting as digital supervisors for lawyers’ daily outputs. The company’s initial Microsoft Word plugin is particularly tailored for transactional firms, focusing on risk reduction and error detection. Early pilots reveal strong adoption, with one firm reporting 90% weekly active usage among its partners and associates. Unlike other legal AI solutions aimed at content generation, Vesence emphasizes refining existing work to ensure adherence to best practices. The funding will be utilized to expand Vesence’s AI capabilities, hire talent, and grow its client base within the legal sector, following its Y Combinator accelerator experience.
