Walmart Unveils Innovative AI Toolset to Empower Employees

AI is significantly enhancing the efficiency of smaller HR teams, as noted by UKG. Walmart has implemented an AI-driven task management system that reduces the time required for shift planning from 90 to 30 minutes. Initially used for overnight stocking, it’s being piloted for other shifts in select stores. To overcome language barriers, Walmart introduced a real-time translation tool supporting 44 languages, facilitating communication between associates and customers. Furthermore, the company is upgrading its conversational AI tool, used by over 900,000 associates, integrating generative AI to simplify complex operational procedures into easy-to-follow instructions. In the apparel department, Walmart is testing the VizPick tool, which merges RFID technology with augmented reality to enhance inventory management by guiding employees to items needing restocking, streamlining the process significantly.
