We are joining several companies, including U.S. model providers, in endorsing the European Union’s General Purpose AI Code of Practice, aiming to ensure that European citizens and businesses have access to secure, high-quality AI tools. Prompt AI deployment is crucial, with the potential to boost Europe’s economy by 8% (€1.4 trillion) annually by 2034. While the evolving Code aligns more closely with Europe’s innovation and economic objectives, concerns remain regarding the AI Act, particularly around potential slowdowns in AI development and deployment. Issues like departures from EU copyright law, prolonged approval processes, and requirements that compromise trade secrets could hinder Europe’s competitiveness. We are dedicated to collaborating with the AI Office to ensure the Code remains balanced, fostering a pro-innovation environment. Our goal is to support future investments and innovation in Europe, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders in the AI landscape.
