WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called “Writing Help” for its iOS beta testers via TestFlight. This tool enhances user communication by providing AI-generated reply suggestions tailored to different tones, which include options to rephrase for clarity, adopt a professional tone, add humor, offer supportive language, or proofread for grammar and spelling. When enabled, users can access this feature through a pen icon in the chat input area. The AI assistant presents at least three alternative phrasings based on the user’s chosen tone. Importantly, the feature operates under Meta’s privacy standards, ensuring user data is processed anonymously and encrypted without storing personal information. Activation of Writing Help is optional and must be manually enabled by users. Although an official release date hasn’t been confirmed, Meta’s commitment to AI integration suggests it will be widely available soon.
