WhatsApp is testing an innovative feature that consolidates all AI tools into one accessible tab within the app, as revealed by WaBetaInfo. Available in the latest Android beta update (version 2.26.10.5), the new Meta AI tab is located in the bottom navigation bar, allowing users to access AI interactions with ease. This change has led to the removal of the Communities tab, though users can still manage community group chats from the Chats section.
The Meta AI tab serves as a centralized hub for various AI functionalities, enabling users to ask questions, create images, and generate conversation prompts. Additionally, it features voice interaction capabilities, allowing real-time chats with the AI. Users can also view past AI conversations, making it simpler to revisit discussions, as each interaction is automatically titled.
Currently available to select beta testers, WhatsApp has yet to announce a broader rollout timeline. This feature emphasizes the app’s commitment to enhancing user experience through AI integration.
