In 2025, I integrated AI tools like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini into my workflow, experiencing significant time savings. Initially, ChatGPT served as my primary AI companion, but I shifted to Gemini following its December feature expansion. Despite Gemini’s advancements, it lacks essential functionalities that ChatGPT excels in, such as a native Mac app. This absence complicates the user experience, requiring tedious browser tab switching. Additionally, ChatGPT’s integration with various third-party apps enhances productivity, allowing tasks like booking and music discovery seamlessly, which Gemini struggles to match due to its limited app support. ChatGPT also facilitates project organization through dedicated folders, whereas Gemini’s chat history becomes cluttered and difficult to navigate. Although Gemini Live offers voice interaction, it requires significant improvements, particularly in memory support and real-time transcripts compared to ChatGPT’s superior interface. As Google continues to innovate, it’s anticipated that these necessary features will be implemented in Gemini, enhancing its usability and competitiveness.
