Xiaohongshu Unveils New Open-Source LLM

RedNote, known in China as Xiaohongshu, has launched its first open-source large language model (LLM), featuring 142 billion parameters and a cost-effective mixture-of-experts architecture. Developed by its Humane Intelligence Lab, this model stands out by avoiding synthetic data and demonstrating superior performance in Chinese tasks compared to competitors. As RedNote aims to expand its presence globally, it is also considering a potential initial public offering (IPO) to support its growth initiatives.
