YouTube has launched several cutting-edge AI features at its Made on YouTube event, enhancing content creation for Shorts and podcasts. Key updates include the introduction of the Veo 3 AI model, developed in collaboration with Google DeepMind, which enables creators to generate video backgrounds and sound clips effortlessly. This tool, currently available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, produces 480p videos with low latency at no cost. Future updates will allow creators to transform still photos into videos with creative styles and effects. Additionally, podcasters can now generate video clips from audio using the Veo 3 model. Other live streaming innovations include Playables, enabling audience engagement through more than 75 games, and tools for creating highlights from live sessions. YouTube is also enhancing its Studio features with conversational insights and improved auto-dubbing, aiming to streamline creative processes and boost monetization opportunities for creators.
