The standout feature, “Photo to Video,” lets users transform images into dynamic animations complete with effects and templates, available for free in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with wider access coming soon. Additionally, generative effects enable users to create unique visuals like underwater scenes or humorous “twinning” effects from selfies using Google’s Veo 2 model, with the upcoming Veo 3 integration planned for summer. Creators can explore these features in a new AI playground, which provides pre-filled prompts and a gallery for inspiration. Similar photo-to-video capabilities are being introduced in Google Photos. Notably, all AI-generated content will include SynthID watermarks.
