Bagyo.app: A Blockchain and AI Solution for Typhoon Relief in the Philippines
In response to Super Typhoon Uwan, Filipino startup New Prontera Corporation launched Bagyo.app, integrating blockchain technology with an AI agent called AERIS (Autonomous Emergency Response Intel System). This innovative platform, built in just 72 hours, aims to assist Filipinos during natural disasters.
Co-founders John Sedano and Jared Dillinger emphasize the project’s mission to leverage their skills for social good. AERIS facilitates donations, allowing users to contribute both crypto and physical goods like food and medicine. The platform can currently support 2,000 users but is being enhanced for broader scalability.
Future plans include making Bagyo.app open source, enabling global adaptation for crisis management. The integration of blockchain ensures anonymous yet transparent donations, fostering trust and accountability. This initiative seeks to build a more resilient Philippines, providing essential support during emergencies while inviting global support.
