Adobe has unveiled significant updates for Premiere Pro and After Effects on desktop, introducing AI-powered tools to enhance video editing efficiency. A standout feature, Object Mask, uses advanced AI to simplify mask creation for complex moving subjects; users can generate masks by merely hovering over a subject. This eliminates tedious manual masking while still allowing fine adjustments like feathering and resizing.
Running locally, the new assistive AI ensures faster performance and maintains user privacy by avoiding cloud processing. The Shape Mask tool improvements let users create Ellipse, Rectangle, and Pen masks directly from the toolbar, boasting a 20x speed increase in object tracking.
Additionally, After Effects now supports SVG imports and includes new 3D parametric meshes for creating sophisticated graphics. Enhanced integration with Firefly Boards and Adobe Stock within Premiere facilitates easier access to licensed assets. These updates are available now via the Creative Cloud app.
