Agentic AI deployments more than doubled over 2025

The adoption of AI agents by organizations has surged from 11% to 25% in just one year, according to KPMG’s recent poll. Despite a reported decline in deployment rates, this reflects evolving perceptions and greater efficiency of AI agents. Leaders are now more sophisticated in defining what constitutes true agent capabilities. However, issues such as inconsistent usage across business units have emerged, with concerns growing from 19% to 45%. Additionally, budget constraints escalated from 8% to 26%, while unclear enterprise strategies jumped from 20% to 32%. Consequently, 64% of organizations have altered their entry-level hiring strategies, seeking candidates with AI skills, often willing to pay up to 15% more. KPMG anticipates that by 2026, AI agents will not only support project management but will increasingly take leading roles within teams, driven by orchestrated AI ecosystems that produce measurable results and continuous improvement. This transformation underscores the growing significance of AI in shaping organizational dynamics.
