Innovative studies employ machine learning to classify tongue images systematically. A 2024 study achieved 96.6% accuracy in predicting health conditions based on tongue color using a standardized lighting setup. Despite potential, experts caution that tongue analysis shouldn’t be the sole diagnostic criterion. Emerging AI apps, like BenCao, offer wellness insights based on tongue images, yet further collaboration with healthcare professionals is essential to enhance their diagnostic accuracy and applicability.
