A recent Jellyfish survey shows a significant increase in the adoption of agentic AI tools among companies, with usage rising from 50% to 82% between December and May. This type of AI not only suggests code but actively participates in coding tasks, such as reviewing, authoring, and submitting code. AI-powered code reviews also saw substantial growth, jumping from 39% to 76% in the same timeframe. Popular tools include GitHub Copilot Reviewer, Cursor BugBot, and CodeRabbit, with emerging contenders like Graphite and Greptile. Despite these advancements, only 8% of companies are currently piloting fully agentic coding workflows, a modest increase from under 2% in January. The trend indicates a shift towards more autonomous coding processes, highlighting the growing reliance on AI in software development.
