A study by the University of Zagreb, titled “Application of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Innovative Teaching,” investigates how generative AI can be integrated into educational settings using a “betting shop” activity. This gamified approach motivates students to surpass AI-generated predictions, reinforcing competition and commitment to learning. While the study found AI’s forecasting capabilities were only moderately accurate, it significantly boosted student engagement, with over 60% surpassing their predicted scores. Moreover, the research identified distinct student performance patterns through analytical indicators. However, challenges such as data quality, ethical considerations, and the need for human oversight remain crucial in AI implementation. Overall, the study suggests a shift from mere prediction to enhancing engagement, emphasizing the blend of AI capabilities with effective pedagogical strategies to improve educational outcomes.
