Hear Me Out is an innovative, free website that empowers users to understand and exercise their legal rights when filing complaints. Collaboratively developed with the National Justice Project and the Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law, it stands out as one of the first generative AI legal self-help tools globally. The platform simplifies the complex complaints landscape, offering a user-friendly experience, crucial for addressing issues across Australia’s 320 complaint bodies. Co-founder Professor Daniel Ghezelbash notes a significant gap in navigating the complaint process, which inspired the platform’s creation. Utilizing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology, Hear Me Out reliably combines external legal resources for accuracy and adaptability as laws evolve. Following its successful launch in New South Wales in March 2025, with plans for a national rollout. Hear Me Out aims to serve as a comprehensive legal diagnostic tool, guiding individuals through their legal challenges and promoting access to justice.
