Qure.ai has unveiled the world’s first AI-powered pediatric TB screening tool, qXR, designed to enhance early detection from birth to 15 years. Recently receiving CE Class IIb certification, qXR efficiently identifies high-risk children for active TB, even without symptoms, addressing a critical global health crisis. In 2023, nearly 1.3 million children under 15 contracted TB, with those under five being particularly vulnerable. TB diagnosis in children has been notoriously challenging, exacerbated by their underdeveloped immune systems and inability to produce sputum. Qure.ai’s AI-enabled chest X-rays streamline screening, reduce clinician workload, and facilitate immediate results, enabling healthcare systems to allocate resources more effectively. Dr. Shibu Vijayan emphasized the importance of this tool in identifying and prioritizing care for the most vulnerable children. Additionally, Qure.ai’s qTrack platform integrates treatment algorithms to aid clinical diagnosis, illustrating the commitment to combating pediatric TB globally.
