Users searching terms like “best flowers for Valentine’s Day” or “chocolates and sweets as gifts” will encounter ads from local stores such as Albertsons, Safeway, and Vons. Similarly, Target plans to test contextual advertising, where keywords in user prompts will trigger relevant ads, enhancing user engagement and potentially increasing online traffic. The pilot supports retailers’ strategies to connect with consumers at key moments in their shopping journey, while ensuring trust and privacy are maintained in AI interactions. This innovative advertising format could significantly drive user engagement for participating brands.
