Alibaba Cloud has partnered with AI Singapore (AISG) to launch Qwen-SEA-LION-v4, an innovative large language model tailored for Southeast Asia’s diverse linguistic and cultural landscape. Building on the Qwen3-32B foundation, this version significantly enhances multilingual accuracy and cultural understanding, operating efficiently on consumer-grade laptops with 32GB of RAM. It excels in the Southeast Asian Holistic Evaluation of Language Models (SEA-HELM) leaderboard, thanks to advanced reasoning and support for local languages. The model has been trained on over 100 billion Southeast Asian language tokens, improving its understanding of regional expressions. With a focus on AI inclusivity, Alibaba Cloud and AISG aim to provide accessible AI solutions for developers, businesses, and public institutions, ensuring relevance to Southeast Asian communities. Key upgrades include superior multilingual text processing, expanded regional datasets, and options for 4-bit and 8-bit quantization for cost-effective deployment, empowering the next wave of AI innovation in the region.
