Alibaba Group Holding has launched its new Qwen3-Omni multimodal AI system, rapidly becoming the most sought-after model in the open-source AI community. This innovative model challenges established players like OpenAI and Google while highlighting the rising prominence of Chinese AI technologies. The variant Qwen3-Omni-30B-A3B recently topped Hugging Face’s trending model list, followed by the image editing model Qwen-Image-Edit-2509. Alibaba’s cloud computing arm introduced the Qwen3-Omni series as the first comprehensive system that integrates text, images, audio, and video into one model. Following its launch in April, Qwen3 has evolved into a versatile lineup addressing various real-world applications. Researcher Lin Junyang noted that enhancements stem from foundational breakthroughs in audio and imagery. Alibaba’s shares rose 4.3% in Hong Kong, reflecting positive market sentiment around its advancements in open-source AI solutions.
