VSCO is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its photography offerings, notably through AI Lab, a specialized editing platform in the VSCO app for iOS. A recent survey of 401 photographers in the U.S. and Canada revealed fascinating insights into their perspectives on AI in creative workflows. Interestingly, 83% of photographers are already utilizing AI, with a significant divide: 68% of working photographers use it weekly or daily, compared to just 34% of enthusiasts. Many photographers expressed a desire for AI tools that reduce administrative burdens like file organization and client communication. Despite concerns about ethics and creative control, only 4% felt threatened by AI. VSCO’s findings indicate a readiness among photographers for AI tools, particularly for those tailored to marketing, pricing, and personalized editing. The company remains committed to ensuring AI aids photographers in focusing on their passions rather than replacing their artistry.
