Amazon, in collaboration with 21 high schools in West Java, Indonesia, achieved a Guinness World Record for “Most Applications Made in An On-site Generative AI (Gen AI) Event,” creating over 10,821 unique applications. Over 2,600 students and teachers participated, showcasing the potential of generative AI and cloud technologies. Jaime Valls, AWS Asia Pacific Vice President, emphasized the importance of democratizing access to transformative technologies for local innovators. The initiative, supported by Prestasi Junior Indonesia and AIkademi Foundation, highlighted students’ creativity in developing AI applications across various fields. Indonesian officials praised this milestone, recognizing the commitment to equipping the youth with essential skills for a digital future. Amazon has provided cloud training to over 1 million Indonesians since 2017, and is now expanding its AI education efforts. This initiative not only fosters technological skills but also positions Indonesia as a growing force in the tech sector.
