Amazon unveils three AI-powered technologies as it works towards ‘warehouse of the future’

Amazon is innovating its logistics with AI technologies that aim to enhance employee efficiency while minimizing human labor. The e-commerce leader has introduced three key tools: the Blue Jay Robot, Eluna AI Agent, and augmented-reality (AR) glasses for drivers. The Blue Jay Robot, now in trials in South Carolina, sorts packages more quickly, facilitating cheaper same-day deliveries. Eluna AI Agent optimizes workforce management by resolving complex queries to prevent bottlenecks, with testing set for a Tennessee warehouse. The AR glasses assist delivery drivers in identifying packages, offering navigation, and alerting them to potential obstacles like pets. This automation not only intends to increase worker safety but also aims to reduce operational costs, with Morgan Stanley estimating up to $4 billion in annual savings as Amazon expands its use of robots across fulfillment centers. CEO Andy Jassy’s vision for AI adoption is transforming warehouse operations to keep pace with e-commerce demands.
