Anthropic Launches New AI Code Review Tool

On March 9, 2026, Anthropic unveiled its latest AI tool, Code Review, designed for Teams and Enterprise users. This innovative feature employs AI agents to identify bugs in code before human reviewers assess it, streamlining the software development process. Activated per repository, Code Review assesses pull requests in real-time and provides a summary of bugs, complete with severity rankings and in-line comments.

Anthropic reports a 200% increase in code production among its engineers, highlighting the need for efficient review processes as manual reviews often become bottlenecks. With Code Review, substantive feedback on pull requests rose from 16% to 54%. Users are charged based on token usage, averaging between $15 and $25 per review, with options for budget monitoring.

The launch has sparked discussions about its impact on software development roles, with advocates praising its efficiency while some express concerns over job security. This marks a significant evolution in AI’s role within coding and software development.
