Anthropic is rapidly closing the gap with OpenAI in AI business spending, according to recent data from Ramp. Currently, OpenAI commands 35.2% of corporate customers, while Anthropic has risen to 30.6%, a significant increase of 6.3% since March. The trend suggests that Anthropic could surpass OpenAI within two months, particularly in sectors like software, finance, insurance, and personal services. Ramp indicates that AI adoption is heavily influenced by funding, with 80% of VC-backed firms choosing AI solutions compared to 45% among those without such backing. Additionally, Anthropic’s Claude Code has gained popularity among developers, bolstering its market position. Notably, a high-profile challenge against a Pentagon deal in February enhanced Anthropic’s reputation, momentarily elevating Claude above ChatGPT in the App Store. Major tech players, including Microsoft, have also shown support for Anthropic, underscoring the shifting landscape of AI adoption in business.
