On July 14, Anthropic unveiled Connectors, a new directory of tools enabling Claude AI models to access external data from both local and remote applications. Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users can leverage remote service connectors, while all users, including those on free plans, can access local desktop connectors. These tools enhance Claude’s capabilities, transforming it into an informed AI collaborator that delivers relevant responses in real time. The functionality operates via the open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP). Noteworthy integrations include tools from Notion, Canva, Figma, Socket, and Prisma, illustrating how users can seamlessly request specific tasks with real data for more tailored results. For instance, Claude can generate professional release notes by integrating with Linear project management. Users can discover and connect to these tools at claude.ai/directory. This development follows the May launch of Claude 4 Opus, recognized for its top-tier coding capabilities.
