An iOS interface that says "Working with ChatGPT"

OpenAI’s GPT-5 model has launched for many ChatGPT users, and it will soon be integrated into Apple’s platforms, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26, as reported by 9to5Mac. Although Apple hasn’t specified release dates, these major updates are typically available in September. Meanwhile, GPT-5 is already being used in tools like GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot. The new model is designed to hallucinate 80% less and features automated reasoning-optimized responses based on user prompts. Free users will accept defaults, while paid ChatGPT subscribers can choose models per prompt. However, it remains unclear how these functionalities will work on iOS—whether users will have continuous access to GPT-5’s reasoning capabilities or be restricted to default settings similar to free users. As more information becomes available, users are eager to understand how GPT-5 will enhance their experience across devices.
