Apple is set to overhaul Siri and its Apple Intelligence platform, integrating Google’s Gemini AI model to enhance features. Expected to launch by March 2024, this upgrade will coincide with new hardware, including smart home displays and updated Apple TV and HomePod mini models that showcase Siri’s advanced capabilities. In a rare partnership, Apple will license a custom Gemini-based model to run on its Private Cloud Compute servers, ensuring data privacy remains a priority. Despite this innovation, Apple faces challenges in restoring Siri’s reputation, as users may be hesitant to embrace the changes. Regulatory delays in China further complicate the rollout of Apple Intelligence there, with a revised timeline now described as a “rolling target.” Looking ahead to WWDC 2026, Apple will likely preview iOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27, featuring deeper AI integration. This evolution could finally align Siri with users’ expectations while maintaining a focus on privacy.
