Bonta stressed the importance of maintaining OpenAI’s safety mission amid restructuring fears. OpenAI’s Board Chair, Bret Taylor, acknowledged these concerns, asserting the company’s commitment to ensuring safety as a top priority and announced plans to implement expanded protections for teens, including parental controls. This request follows a prior letter from 44 State Attorneys General emphasizing accountability among tech corporations in safeguarding children from harmful content.
