AWS and Code for Schools have partnered to launch Australia’s first locally developed AI education program, accessible to K-12 students, teachers, and parents across public, independent, and Catholic schools. As Australia anticipates creating 200,000 AI jobs by 2030, this initiative addresses the critical skills gap identified by 39% of businesses as a barrier to AI adoption. The program, developed in collaboration with industry experts and educators, will focus on fundamental AI concepts, hands-on experience, real-world case studies, and problem-solving scenarios. By 2026, it aims to reach one million students, providing resources for parents to encourage responsible AI use at home. This initiative is part of AWS’s AI Spring program, underscoring a commitment to developing AI literacy from classrooms to careers. With a projected AU$20 billion investment in cloud infrastructure, AWS is set to enhance Australia’s global position in the AI revolution, ensuring a continuous pipeline of skilled talent for the future.
