Giannandrea, who joined Apple in 2018 to enhance Siri, faced setbacks, including a delay in introducing a personalized Siri, leading to diminished confidence in his leadership from CEO Tim Cook. Although Giannandrea will remain as an advisor until spring 2026, Apple is optimistic about Subramanya’s track record in AI innovation. The company anticipates launching an upgraded Siri in spring 2024, potentially incorporating features from Google’s Gemini model tailored for Apple’s privacy standards.
