OpenAI is introducing a new affordable plan, ChatGPT Go, priced at $8/month, which provides access to its latest GPT-5.2 model and ten times the message and file upload limits compared to the free tier. This plan will feature ads, similar to the free version, as OpenAI seeks to maintain accessibility to AI. Users on premium tiers, including ChatGPT Plus and Pro, can avoid ads. OpenAI promises that advertising will not compromise the chatbot’s functionality, claiming a separation between ad content and responses. User privacy is prioritized, as personal data will not be sold, and users can disable ad personalization or clear data. Ads will be discreetly placed at the bottom of chats and tailored to conversation topics. This ad-supported version of ChatGPT is slated to launch in the US soon, allowing users to assess OpenAI’s commitment to integrity.
