Access to ChatGPT's 'Eyes and Ears' at last: Plugins finally being rolled out to Plus users.

In March, OpenAI began developing plugins for ChatGPT, enhancing its abilities by allowing users to delegate various tasks. Recently, over 70 third-party plugins are launching for ChatGPT Plus subscribers. OpenAI announced via Twitter that these plugins, moving from alpha to beta, enable internet access and diverse functionalities. Subscribing for $20 per month grants access to ChatGPT-4, an improved version of its predecessor. Users can install multiple plugins but can only utilize three at a time, catering to industries like shopping, travel, and stocks. Notable plugins such as “ndricks Sports” compiles sports news, while others like “AskYourPDF” allow users to parse PDF content. Although the plugins show promise, they are still in beta, leading to occasional inaccuracies and functionality issues. This development marks a significant evolution for ChatGPT, especially as it competes with innovations like Google Bard’s latest upgrades. The growing capabilities of generative AI signal an exciting future for technology users.
