AI tools are seen as pivotal in reducing healthcare teams’ non-essential tasks, allowing them to focus more on patient interactions, thereby improving work-life balance. Peri acknowledged the slow adoption of AI in healthcare due to regulatory concerns but emphasized careful implementation based on proven evidence. Additionally, the health system aims to engage tech-savvy patients and parents by utilizing digital tools and predictive algorithms. Peri also discussed the role of private equity in healthcare, suggesting a collaborative approach with these firms to meet urgent care needs while maintaining focus on pediatric health. An upcoming panel on AI’s role in addressing workforce shortages in healthcare will take place on May 5th at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
