On December 18, China Southern Airlines (CSA) hosted an AI innovation conference in Guangzhou, showcasing groundbreaking applications of artificial intelligence aligned with national aviation strategies. Key highlights included the launch of the Smart Travel Assistant, which enhances the passenger experience by facilitating booking and other services through natural-language commands via the CSA app. Additionally, the Tianji Predictive Model forecasts flight operations, while the Tiance Aviation Solver optimizes scheduling and decision-making. The Tiandun Safety Model focuses on risk management and aviation safety. CSA also presented an AI digital staff transparent screen system, allowing real-time translations for multilingual passenger inquiries. This system is currently operational at Beijing Daxing and Urumqi Airports. The conference featured the 4th CSA Innovation Awards, recognizing 77 innovative solutions across various domains. Experts from diverse sectors discussed the integration of AI in aviation to foster innovation and enhance operational efficiency, supporting CSA’s expanding international routes.
