To access this, users simply open the app, navigate to ‘Library,’ then select ‘New’ and choose ‘AI Playlist.’ The feature allows users to generate playlists using pre-set prompts or custom queries, with results often showcasing a blend of familiar and new tunes.
While the AI playlist can accurately respond to some prompts, its discovery capabilities may fall short. For instance, using the “Music that’s new to me” prompt yielded limited results. Users found that the feature excels with specific queries but struggles with broader ones. In comparison to Spotify, YouTube Music lacks options for saving prompts or fine-tuning individual songs within playlists.
Despite the limitations, the AI Playlist feature offers a fun way to explore music. For dedicated YouTube Music users, the overall experience remains satisfying, though enhancements would be welcomed.
