OpenAI’s video tool, Sora 2, has emerged as a means for generating harmful content, including fatphobic and racist videos that are flooding social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. For example, viral clips depict offensive scenarios, such as an overweight woman bungee jumping and a Black woman falling through a KFC floor, showcasing a troubling trend of using AI to amplify hate. This raises significant ethical concerns, as such AI-generated content can easily be mistaken for reality, particularly by younger audiences. Despite claims of protective “guardrails,” AI tools are failing to prevent the creation of this harmful material.
