A year ago, I found myself at a crossroads in a large SaaS company, sensing the looming disruption of AI. While the company aggressively rebranded, my internal alarm bells rang louder. Here’s what I learned from embracing AI through freelance work:
- Freelancing Freedom: Resigned to seek opportunities in the evolving AI landscape.
- Innovative Projects: Developed a niche SaaS product that met stringent compliance requirements.
- Rapid Development: Thanks to AI tools like Claude Code, a recent project went from idea to launch in just 3 hours!
However, this shift isn’t without its challenges:
- Evolving Landscape: The “November moment” has opened the floodgates for custom app demands, but I worry about the longevity of my skills.
- Existential Questions: Am I losing my value as AI becomes more accessible?
Still, I hold onto the belief that innovation will pave the way forward.
