CoreWeave woos enterprises with serverless RL suite • The Register

CoreWeave, a prominent rent-a-GPU provider, has launched a new Serverless Reinforcement Learning (RL) platform aimed at making AI services more accessible to enterprises. This innovative platform enhances machine learning capabilities by enabling models to learn through trial and error, rewarding successes while penalizing failures. The Serverless RL offering capitalizes on CoreWeave’s recent acquisitions, including OpenPipe and Weights & Biases, optimizing resource use by distributing workloads across underutilized GPUs. This approach eliminates the need for manual VM provisioning, allowing customers to pay only for tokens generated during the fine-tuning of custom AI agents. CoreWeave claims this service is 1.4 times faster and 40% cheaper than traditional Nvidia H100 setups. The company is actively diversifying its customer base, having recently acquired Monolith AI to enhance its portfolio of AI offerings beyond generative models. As CoreWeave continues to expand, it aims to reduce its reliance on a few major customers, fostering broader growth in the AI services landscape.
