Deepx, an AI semiconductor company, has partnered with Baidu to advance global on-device AI solutions across industries such as drones, robotics, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Utilizing Baidu’s open-source deep learning framework, PaddlePaddle, Deepx’s DX-M1 chip showcases impressive power efficiency and performance, particularly in edge environments. This collaboration focuses on integrating AI models into Deepx’s hardware for real-world applications, while also converting OpenVINO-based AI models for compatibility with PaddlePaddle. Deepx’s CEO, Lokwon Kim, emphasized that this partnership represents a pivotal moment for their AI semiconductor technology in the global market. Future initiatives include the development of a vision-focused NPU card (V-NPU) to replace traditional GPUs, targeted for mass production by September 2025.
