Agentic AI projects face significant hurdles in scaling beyond the pilot phase due to governance, validation, and safety challenges. A survey by Dynatrace indicates that while adoption is rising—with 26% of organizations managing over 11 projects—nearly half of these remain in the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) stage. Key motivations for investing in agentic AI include system monitoring (44%), cybersecurity (27%), and data processing (25%). However, barriers like security and compliance fears (52%) and technical scalability issues (51%) persist. Despite wanting to enhance AI budgets, the current landscape shows that 70% of AI-driven decisions still rely on human verification. Observability is crucial throughout the AI lifecycle, helping organizations achieve operational reliability and transparency. Many organizations are gearing up for a 50-50 human-AI collaboration approach, underscoring a transition towards more autonomous decision-making while ensuring responsible scaling and oversight.
