Google Photos has introduced its year-end Recap feature, similar to Spotify Wrapped, allowing users to reflect on their memories from the past year. This engaging review combines memorable highlights, photos stats, and enhanced graphics, showcasing personal moments through AI technology, specifically Google’s Gemini. The Recap identifies your top five highlights and “one true passion,” making it a personalized experience. New features include a total selfie count and the option to hide specific photos or people, allowing for a tailored Recap. Users can easily share their Recaps on social media and export them to the editing app CapCut for further customization. The Recap will be accessible throughout December, either in the Memories carousel or Collections tab. Additionally, Google Photos plans to roll out 2025 highlights during this month. This innovative feature aims to enhance user engagement and capitalize on the data-driven review trend in photography.
